Real Housewives of Douglas County Women’s Extravaganza
Thanks to the power of social media (ie, Twitter and Facebook) – I recently came across a former co-worker and photographed client (you’ll find Kimmie and her girls on the slide show). She organized a local group called the The Real Housewives of Douglas County, women from the Douglas County area getting together and letting their hair down a bit and have some fun. Always up for something like this myself, and I living in Douglas County – I signed up as a fan.
A few weeks later an event was put out that there there would be a Real Housewives of Douglas County Women’s Extravaganza event. Where small local business owners and direct sales personnel would be together in one place “Women helping Women”. Businesses such as Blame Jayne (Jewelry & Accessories), Stella Dot (Jewelry), Be Hip Clothing, prAna (Workout & Yoga clothes), Pampered Chef, Tupperware, Tastefully Simple, Women’s Supplements, Party-lite (Candles) and many more businesses where there.

From the moment you walked into the home (hosted by Kimmie, my friend and the originator of the Real Housewives of Douglas County), there were tons of goodies to see. Her large, welcoming home had up to 15 yummy eye-candy businesses to start off with. There were 100 goodie bags as you walked in, I think only 10 were left over after the event!

As you made your way into the kitchen, you were greeted with food from the Tastefully Simple and Pampered Chef and some wine. Going downstairs to the basement, you find 3 other large rooms with clothes and jewelry available for sale.

I instantly feel in love with some the jewelry – and if I can lose a little weight – there are some rockin’ outfits on my wish list from these great businesses. What was great about this Women’s Extravaganza event that Kimmie organized was that all of the businesses agreed to donate 5% of their sales to Journey Church’s Haiti Mission.

Talking with Kimmie later, she said she would like to offer this again in different parts of the county for more coverage and offer it to more businesses to participate, so if you missed out on the 1st event, trust me, this event was too much fun and will happen again!
View pictures from the spectacular event – thanks Kimmie! It was a fun event!
