If you take a look around my website, you won’t see a lot of weddings. That was a full focus in early 2007 through 2009 but once I started working with seniors, weddings took a huge step back. So big back that I decided it would not be a part of my business. Then a senior that I had one year told me after her senior session that I needed to be prepared that I would do her wedding. I giggled and told her that she needs to find the guy first but further more – college, a job and some fun in her life needed to be in the mix before I came back into the scene but she told me… it would be me. That was the biggest compliment that I could receive. She trusted me with one big life event, she was wanting me to capture another large moment in her life. I then decided that I would photograph weddings by special request and also added “I had to photograph you prior to your wedding…” meaning – you had to be a senior session at one time with me.

Which brings us to January 1, 2018. Jonathan (2012 Legend Alumni) had proposed to his girlfriend Isabella just a few months earlier and was home in Colorado showing this beautiful southern girl some western culture (snow and cold…) and asked would I come and photograph their engagement pictures. Would I? Biggest compliment ever. The only day possible with their schedule and mine was New Years Day!! His Mom and Dad live in this secluded wooded area that gave us the perfect cold Colorado feel for these two to snuggle, laugh and talk about their upcoming wedding and starting their 2018 year out right with engagement portraits.

Watching these two look at each other, compliment each other, just fixated on each other – I just couldn’t help but get mushy with them. They are just so cute. Congratulations Jonathan and Isabella! Here are a few favorites from their engagement session:
